Floyd Mayweather Junior could find himself in a comprising position for money this year. It’s been confirmed that Khabib Nurmagomedov is interested in competing against Floyd Mayweather Jr, with the two men having their respective parties formulate an agreement. Rumours surrounding this agreement indicate that it’ll include a mixture of MMA and Boxing. TMZ Sports saw Khabib recently, where the UFC Champion mentioned that he’d provide Floyd Mayweather Jr eleven of twelve rounds for boxing. The final round would be required to be MMA, where fighting analysts collectively agree that Mayweather would be destroyed. Considering that junior is the same age his father was when retiring, this bout would more than likely create permanent damage for Floyd Mayweather.
The Associated Cost
Floyd Mayweather Junior is considered one of the most prominent boxers in fighting history, with the athlete returning from his retirement once since 2015. This return saw Mayweather compete against Conor McGregor, where the boxing champion would defeat his Irish opponent. It enabled for Floyd Mayweather Jr to earn the most significant payday in his career, standing at $50 million. Now the infamous boxer is demanding that the UFC pay $600 million for his combined fights against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Connor McGregor. Most fighting analysts have agreed that the Mayweather’s are requesting to much money and will find themselves being declined as a family.
It should be noted that neither one of these parties have reached an official agreement regarding a potential contract. Discussions regarding Floyd Mayweather Juniors return to fighting have been persistent since 2017. Though both have confirmed these discussions are being held, with Mayweather expressing he could potentially fight Nurmagomedov and McGregor on the same day. It’d mark the first time that anybody competed against two championship-winning fighters in one day.
The Middle East
Fighting analysts are beginning to believe that a singular fight will be held, with that being between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Floyd Mayweather Junior. These predictions follow after the Saudi Arabians publicly offered Dana White $100 million, with an additional $200 million to be split between the fighters, to have this bout in the Middle East. Considering that Khabibs last public fight was against Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Dana White allow for a secondary bout in this region. Khabib will have plenty of potential competition, with the champion having not competed in months. Since Donald Cerrone lost to Conor McGregor, the Middle Eastern’s potential opponent could be deadly.
